This book is adorable. This is the third book I've read by Em Stevens, and she is always a delight. The relationship between Kensi and Tess is adorable and tear-jerking and so sweet. Kensi and Tess feel like real relationship -- they have baggage and they have fights and they have issues that they work through. But they always end up curled around each other at the end of the night (or end of the week if the fight is a big one). And it just feels so palpable, and it just feels so *real*.Kensi is a real estate agent who, after a horrific break-up, decides to cut off all of her hair. Tess is the hair stylist who does the cutting. They bond over the almost ceremonial act of release, and decide to grab a drink. And there our story starts.
And the book isn't just about the relationship! I mean, yes, it is a romance novel -- and a really lovely one at that -- but a lot of the story is about how Kensi and Tess change, and about how they grow up and how they learn to be themselves and how they learn to be free.
I loved Em Stevens two other books before this, so I subscribed to her email/notifications for when she has a new publication. And after reading this book, she has certainly solidified herself as one of my favorite authors. Some of the paragraphs in the book aren't just prose, but poetry. She has a talent for crafting likable, flawed, and wonderful characters that you rarely see. This book is a gift to the genre.

Another great book by Em Stevens. The author created very real, relatable characters in Kensi and Tess, with realistic peaks and valleys in their relationship. However, Tangle conveyed more than just the relationship between these two women, it also taught some lessons about trust, financial fraud, successful money management between couples, and relationships with parents. This is a story with a happily ever after and not to give away any spoilers, but the letter at the end is enough to bring happy tears to your eyes.
Let me just say that after reading her first book in only two days, it took me less than a week to read to read her other books! Yeah I'm definitely hooked. She has a terrific writing style that is so smooth and at times so intense. I recommend ALL her books and I easily rated each one 5 stars !!!
This is my third Em Stevens book and so far it's my favorite. In some ways it felt like there was more drama than her other two, but I think that's only because the characters tackle some darker issues. I felt, though, that it didn't venture into crazy, and instead maintained a very real and identifiable flow. I'm a fan!
This is an excellent reading I truly enjoyed, it's sweet, down to earth and spicy. The characters are charming and captivating. Kensi is the sweetest scared little bird until her friendship with Tess, her hair stylist grew and helped her get stronger and believe in her herself, getting comfortable in her own skin after a breaking up with girlfriend of five years who was stealing her identity and her money. Tess has been in an abusive and reckless relationship too and Kensi helped her thru difficult times. It's beautiful the way they supported each other and got counseling when needed, they build with trust and love, encouraging to be better, stronger and honest. I definitely recommend this lovely and alluring story. Bravo Em Stevens!!!!
Em Stevens has quickly become one kindleUnlimited author that I look forward to reading. Her writing is well done and well edited (not common for many of these type of publications). The characters are well thought out and defined and you feel a connection of some sort to them. This is the definitely the case with this story. Kensi and Tess are flawed, not super rich, and not with everything figured out...but together they get there...kinda. I will agree with another reviewer that not everything was "solved" or "answered," but for this part of their lives, this story, it was. Now a sequel maybe series with new leads and them in it would be welcome...maybe...possibly...please.
Anyway, a solid 4.5 in my book. Definitely looking forward to future reads.
This book was both sexy and heart-warming--a perfect combination! I felt like the healing process the characters went through was cathartic for me as a reader. I cheered the characters on through the ups and downs of their relationship, and felt fully satisfied by the conclusion. Once again, Em Stevens's unique writing style was both easy to read and interesting, with just enough spice sprinkled in to keep me hooked to the very end!
